Aggie Card Office

The Aggie Card is your official Texas A&M ID that shows your status as a member of the Aggie family. It is important for you to always keep your Aggie Card on you. It will allow you to access numerous campus services such as your assigned residence hall, the Rec Center, the library, dining halls and so much more!

The Aggie Card Office is responsible for printing ID cards for all members of the university community who need access to various locations on our many campuses.

To Receive Your Aggie ID Card

  • Submit the appropriate form indicated below. You will receive a link via email to submit the photo that will be printed on your Aggie Card (with exception to the contractors and visiting scholars, see sections below).
  • You will receive an email when your ID is ready for pickup. Photo Identification verification is mandatory when picking up your new Aggie Card. No exceptions will be made. Examples of acceptable photo ID documents include: driver's license, passport card/book, previous year's high school ID.
  • All Aggie Cards must be picked up by the card holder (apart from Distance Education ID cards, see below).

Incoming Students

Students must first fill out the form below and submit it before you will be eligible to receive your student ID card. Once the form is submitted, the student will receive an email in their TAMU email with a link to upload a photo.

Replacement Student Aggie Cards

Students needing a replacement Aggie Card must fill out and submit the form below. Students will get an email to their TAMU email with instructions and a link to submit a new photo. Once the photo is approved an email will be sent with pick up instructions.  The fee to replace an Aggie Card is $12 for students, except for Galveston students, whose fee is $8.

Distance Education Students

Since we cannot verify your identity in person, you will be issued a Distance Education Aggie ID card. This card does not contain your photo. You are not eligible to submit a photo online. The Distance Education Aggie ID card must be presented with another form of official government issued photo identification whenever used to verify identity. You can request your official Distance Education Aggie ID card by clicking on the Student ID Request Form below. You will log in using your NetID and password. Choose Student and then choose Distance Education. Your Distance Education Aggie ID Card will be mailed to you at the address you provide on the form.

Faculty/Staff & Retirees

If you are a new hire, HR will complete the form below on your behalf for your New Aggie Card. 

If you need a replacement Aggie Card, your supervisor must complete the form below.  

Once the form has been submitted on the employee’s behalf, the employee will receive an email from our office with instructions on submitting a photo for your new Aggie Card.  

When the photo has been reviewed, you will receive an email stating whether it was approved or denied. If it is denied, the email will state the reason why it was denied and will provide a link to upload a new photo which meets all requirements. If the photo is approved, the email will provide instructions for pick up.  

Staff/Faculty ID Request Form

Visiting Scholars

Your sponsored department will need to submit an Aggie ID card request for any visiting scholar in need of an Aggie Card. All visiting scholar Aggie Cards are $25 per card. All international visiting scholar cards expire according to their DS 2019 or J1 documentation. All other visiting scholar cards expire according to the sponsored department.

What is needed:

  • The sponsored department will need a copy of the visiting scholar’s passport or driver’s license.
  • If international, a Copy of DS 2019 or J1 documentation 
  • A photo to be used on the Aggie Card (please refer to acceptable photos)

Staff/Faculty ID Request Form

Contractors

Your sponsored department will need to submit an Aggie ID card request for any contractor in need of an Aggie Card. All contractor ID cards are $25 per card. All contractor cards expire within one year.

What is needed:

  • The sponsored department will need a copy of the contractor’s driver’s license
  • A photo to be used on the Aggie Card (please refer to acceptable photos)
  • An account number that will be charged (If the contractor is responsible for paying for the Aggie Card, the contractor will also need to provide a completed form to the department completing the Aggie Card request)

Photo Requirements

  • Photo should look like a passport photo or professional headshot
  • Neutral background
  • Looking directly at camera
  • Mid-chest and above (cropping and zooming in on photos will distort photo and be a reason for denial)
  • Nothing obscuring your face
  • No shadows
  • No group photos
  • No hats
  • No headbands
  • No earbuds
  • No funny faces
  • No hands near or touching your face
  • No filters/AI enhancements
  • Little to no glare on glasses
  • No other objects in photo
  • No zooming or cropping of photos
