The deadline for Waivers and Exemptions is the 12th class day for the Fall and Spring semesters and the 4th class day for Summer semesters.
TEC Sec. 51.9095 requires that students comply with selective service registration to receive financial assistance from the state. For information on providing proof of your selective service registration to the University, please visit Exemptions & Waivers - Selective Service Requirement.
Waivers and Exemptions will not cover Study Abroad Program charges or any charges for Self-Supporting Programs. Please check with your Academic Advisor to see if your program is eligible for state waivers and exemptions. Exemptions and Waivers are for state-funded courses only. (TEC Sec.54.2002)
With few exceptions, as noted in the "Apply To" column below, applicants must submit most forms and documentation to Student Business Services.
Listed below are waivers and exemptions processed through the University, along with eligibility requirements and instructions to apply. Eligible students are responsible for applying for the waiver or exemption and ensuring the waiver or exemption has been applied toward tuition and fees for the current semester. Students are responsible for payment of tuition and fees not covered under the waiver or exemption. They are subject to late payment penalties and registration charges if tuition and fees are unpaid.
Exemptions allow special groups of Texas residents or non-residents to enroll and pay reduced tuition and/or fees.

SB1210 Exempt: Texas State Senate Bill 1210 requires students to receive continuing awards of most exemptions and some waivers. Submittal of documentation and forms for waivers and exemptions: With few exceptions, as noted in the "Apply To" column below, most forms and documentation should be submitted to Student Business Services.
