The deadline for Waivers and Exemptions is the 12th class day for Fall and Spring semesters and 4th class day for Summer semesters.
Listed below are waivers and exemptions that are processed through the University along with eligibility requirements and instructions to apply. Eligible students are responsible for applying for the waiver or exemption and ensuring the waiver or exemption has been applied toward tuition and fees for the current semester. Students are responsible for payment of tuition and fees not covered under the waiver or exemption and are subject to late payment penalties and late registration charges if tuition and fees are not paid.
Exemptions (E): Exemptions allow special groups of Texas residents or non-residents to enroll and pay a reduced amount of tuition and/or fees.
Waivers (W): Waivers allow special groups of nonresidents to enroll and pay a reduced non-resident tuition rate.
TEC Citation: The citation for the exemption or waiver in the Texas Education Code.
SB1210 Exempt: Texas State Senate Bill 1210 adds requirements for students to receive continuing awards of most exemptions and some waivers. Unless the exemption or waiver is exempt from SB 1210, the student must meet the university's financial aid GPA minimum for Satisfactory Academic Progress and must not have excess credit hours at the beginning of the semester in order to continue to receive an exemption or waiver.
